Beautiful letter to the publisher Carlo Scapin (1723-1801), thanking him for chocolate and asking him to send a copy of the next catalogue, also expressing his intention to preserve the Library of San Marco as it is: "Le rendo molte grazie della cioccolata, per cui ho pagate al Signor Occhi le [...] 20:8; e mi offerisco ancor io a farle ogni piacere senza riserva alcuna.

Jacopo Morelli published invaluable bibliographical works and wrote a famous book on the history of the Library of San Marco in 1774. From 1778 until his death he was custos of the Library of San Marco, greatly extending its valuable collection and discovering important texts.

The identification of Scapin, who is addressed as Carlo by Morelli, according to an old collector's note.

With a tear to the left margin (insignificant loss to text). Minor foxing.
