Interesting letter to the publisher of Flora Tristan's famous "Promenades dans Londres", probably Henri-Louis Delloye, informing him that he has received the book, will "read it with utmost attention" and look for "some occasion to cite it". The letter in full: "Je vous remercie de m'avoir envoyé vos Promenades dans Londres. Je vais lire le petit volume avec plus d'attention que vous ne me dites de le faire, et je chercherai quelqu'occasion de le citer." - Tristan's "Prominades dans Londres" was first published in 1840 by Henri-Louis Delloye (1787-1846) and W. Jeffs in Paris and London. The astute description and denouncement of the devastating social consequences of the industrial revolution that comprises a eulogy to Mary Wollstonecraft is among the principal works of the famous early socialist and feminist Tristan who died only four years after its publication at the age of 41.
Paul de Musset was probably requested as a potential reviewer in consideration of his series "Femmes de la Régence" in the Revue des Deux Mondes.
With minor tears to the margins. Minimally dusted.
