To the journalist and music critic Charles Vincens, concerning a party in honor of the industrialist and patron of the arts Louis-Honoré Arnavon. Considering a "great misfortune" that had struck Arnavon, Naudad thought that the party in Marseille was cancelled but Vincens had informed him that it would still take place: "Hier j'avais écrit à Mr Arnavon qu'en présence du grand malheur qui le frappe je croyais devoir renoncer au voyage de Marseille et à la fête qu'on avait bien voulu préparer".
Nadaud was expecting a swift recovery from a mild illness and looking forward to be hosted by the mutual friend Alexis Rostand in Marseille.
