Beautiful letter to an unnamed recipient, announcing an exhibition in the Rue des Jeûneurs and asking him for support through his influence in an unspecified matter: "Le 1er et 2 mars prochain je vais faire rue des Jeuneurs une exposition et une vente de tableaux et études que j'ai faits depuis quelques années. Comme cette exposition ne durera qu'un jour, je viens donc vous prier de vouloir bien me donner l'appui de votre influence [...]".

The letter can be dated with respect to the upcoming exhibition in the Hôtel de la rue des Jeûneurs, where he would put 55 paintings on sale that realized good prices. In 77 rue Pigalle, Rousseau shared a studio with his friend Jules Dupré.

With tears to the blank leaf due to former mounting. Well preserved.
