First edition. A superb example of this richly illustrated work of equine anatomy and hippiatrics, written by the inspector of the King of France's High Stable and edited by his son, who was riding-master at the Academy of the University of Leiden. It was a popular work which was later translated into German (Glogau, 1767) and into English as "Guide to the Perfect Knowledge of Horses" (London, 1769).

First leaves a little browned due to to paper, otherwise an excellent copy.
