An important historical letter, in French, full of details about political events of the time and news about British military support for both Sweden and Spain in the ongoing Great Northern War. The Czarist fleet has moved to Calmar in southern Sweden to prevent the British and the Swedish fleets from meeting, while matters in Sicily are said to progress very satisfactorily: "Monsieur, Je vous suis tres obligé de vos lettres du 25 et du 28 aout et des nouvelles que vous m'y mandez du Nord. Nous sommes dans la plus grande impatience d'aprendre le denoüement de ces affaires, depuis que nous avons apris que notre Escadre a fait voile le 26. vers [...] et qui Schleinitz publié ici qui le Czar etoit en mouvement pour venir avec se flotte à Calmar pour empecher la jonction de notre Escadre avec l'Escadre Suedoise [...]".
