First edition. In his "Paroemiologia polyglottos", the Wuerttemberg-born polymath Hieronymus Megiser (1554-1618/19) compares the proverbs of various languages, among them not only German, French, Italian, Latin, and Greek, but also Hebrew, Turkish, and Arabic.

First few leaves professionally remargined. Several additions by a contemporary hand both in the printed text as well as on the interleaves.
