An excellent series of plates depicting costumes from Lower Austria, Tirol, Innsbruck, Hungary, Eger, Bohemia, Bukovina, Hermannstadt, Poland, Dalmatia, Moravia, etc. William Alexander was a distinguished artist and museum curator, whose "engravings and soft ground etchings were much admired" (Garnett).
