In his autograph letter to a lady, "Madame", Charles Maurras excuses himself for his long silence. He then expresses his regrets that some false rumour has been spread and explains that he did not want to worry her with gossip. Maurras ends his letter by comforting "Madame" and by assuring her of his admiration and respect for her.
