A brief introductory manual about the pitfalls and opportunities of private stock market speculation, published as an advertisement to garner private investments for the issuing Viennese banking house Kohn & Company. Includes examples such as how to influence the stock market by forming powerful consortiums or how to short-sell assets whose value one assumes is going to decline (both of which services Kohn & Co. offer to their clients). The over-expansion of the market in the early 1870s, of which the present pamphlet presents but a symptom, would lead to the Panic of 1873: on May 9th, "Black Friday", the Viennese stock exchange would crash resoundingly, to be followed by depression and inflation.
Insignificant traces of creases to lower corner, but well preserved. Rare.
