Volumes one and two only of a second edition of the 3-volume collection of sermons by Kellerhaus (1670-1731), court chaplain to the dowager empress Wilhelmine Amalie, first published in 1733. It guides the reader through the liturgical year, providing sermons for each Sunday in part one, while part two offers texts for all Christian holidays celebrated on another day of the week.
Some signs of use: the imprint of a marginal note with ink to pp. 81-88 of part I; a pencil addition ("gegen") to p. 85 of part I, as well as a faded note in ink to p. 81 of part II. The pagination on p. 155 of part II corrected by hand. Binding heavily worn, traces of worming, the upper part of the spine missing. Paper evenly browned throughout, somewhat waterstained near the margins and in the gutter, slightly wormed in places. Some tears in the left margin of the title-page, where it was glued to the flyleaf; the following four leaves loosened. A small hole on p. 286 of part II rebacked with paper. A tear in the lower margin of p. 302 of part II, touching the text. From the library of the Viennese collector Werner Habel, with his signed and stamped ownership, dated 1975, to the pastedown.
