Third edition of this Christian devotional, first published in 1778, and the second German edition in general, following the 1712 issue, as stated in the foreword. Including prayers and litanies, as well as observations on Christian duties, trust, friendship, sins and the afterlife, this work offers guidance throughout the Christian year. The engraved plates mostly show scenes from the Old and New Testament, such as the offering of a lamb by Abel, the Annunciation, the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, while the frontispiece depicts the three Christian virtues. Dedicated to Maria Theresa.

Upper inner hinges broken. Some worming, especially in the first half of the volume, slight loss of text; somewhat fingerstained, slightly brownstained and waterstained. Small flaws to the corners of several pages, not touching the text. From the library of the Viennese collector Werner Habel, with his stamped ownership to flyleaf.
