A facsimile edition of a theological incunable imitating the 1470 block book by the German painter Friedrich Wather von Dinkelsbühl. The incunable is kept at the Paris National Library and was considered a xylographic work until 1910, when Schreiber identified the Gothic type as the one used by the letterpress printers Paul and Hans Hurus, active in Zaragoza between 1485 and 1499. The "Defensorium" exists in manuscript, block book and letterpress version and aims to prove the possiblity of a virginal conception.

Extremities lightly bumped. From the library of the Viennese collector Werner Habel, with his ownership stamp to inner wrappers.
