Seal of Giovanni Francesco Pavini.
No place, ca. 1460s.
90 x 58 mm. Vesica-shaped red wax seal within a metal receptacle (lower half). Stored in a paper box.
Pointed oval seal of the characteristic late Gothic type, resembling an altar with statues of saints in separate alcoves, crowned by a crucifix and pinnacled canopies of filigree screenwork. Under the statues the seal shows the arms of Giovanni Francesco Pavini, canon and law professor at Padua and auditor at Rome.
