To the music journalist and publisher Baudoin La Londre, asking him to send all remaining copies of Weckerlin's 1908 publication "Catalogue de la bibliothèque musicale" to the antiquarian bookseller Leo Liepmannssohn: "Veuillez remettre à M. Leo Liepmannssohn les exemplaires du catalogue de ma bibliotheque de musique qui vous restent me reviennent encore seul[ement] les 150 que je vous ai commandés. [...]".

Weckerlin had considerable success as a composer of opéras-comiques and choral works in his time. Today he is best remembered for his piano arrangements of traditional French songs. His major work, "Bergerettes, romances et chansons du XVIII siècle", was published in 1860. Weckerlin was also librarian at the Paris Conservatory and later for the Société des Compositeurs.
