To the actor François-Joseph Talma (1763-1826), asking him for two tickets for a play "pour Madame Norvins et pour moi. J'ai appris que vous partiez Samedi. Le temps et trop court pour que je fasse avec mes amies quelque arrangement pour une loge".

Norvins fled revolutionary France, settled in Coblenz and served in the Armée des Émigrés. In 1797 he returned to France and became a fervent supporter of Napoleon.

François-Joseph Talma was an intimate friend of Napoleon Bonaparte, who delighted in his society, and even, on his return from Elba, forgave him for performing before Louis XVIII.
