Starting out in his father's altar building workshop in Groß-Steinheim, Busch went on to work as a freelance artist in Munich, working with bronze, stone and wood, and applying himself to Christian motifs. His oeuvre included monuments for bishops, altars, Stations of the Cross, war memorials and tombs.

Traces of a small round stamp. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
