A co-founder of the artists' group "Die Elbier" in Dresden in 1902, Dorsch accompanied his friend, the impressionist painter Gotthard Kuehl, on several trips to Überlingen am Bodensee from 1903 to 1907, which inspired him to turn towards Impressionism himself, and was appointed Professor at the Dresden Academy in 1914.

Traces of a postage stamp. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
