Oblong 8vo (postcard). 1 page.
Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.
Specialized in genre and history painting, Egger-Lienz's style is dominated by strongly outlined, massive forms in a nearly monochromatic palette of earth colors, his themes including the Tyrolean Rebellion of 1809 as well as the First World War, peasant life, a danse macabre, and religious motifs.
Slightly creased near left and lower margin; small spots of ink. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
