Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "Ihre Karte war durch irgend welchen Zufall zwischen andere Schriften geraten. Weshalb ich erst jetzt Ihrem Wunsche nachkomme [...]".
After studying in Berlin and Copenhagen, Geyer taught ornamental and figural modelling at the Technical University in Charlottenburg and was the director of the Handwerksschule from 1904 to 1913, his work including sculptures and reliefs at the Strasbourg railway station.
Small ink spots near lower margin. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
