Oblong 8vo (postcard). ½ page.
Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.
Specializing in etching and engraving, Geyger settled near Florence in 1895 and turned towards sculpture, creating his best-known work "Bogenschütze" in 1902. His ironic depictions of animals were widely popular.
Some small ink spots; upper left corner very slightly creased. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
