A student of Reinhold Begas, Glümer was a member of the Berlin school of sculpture, his work comprising mostly busts and monuments, including the Ferdinand von Schill monument in Stralsund and the Kaiser Wilhelm Monument in Magdeburg.

Long drawn-out, vertical ink stain near left margin. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
