Apart from his teaching job as a ceramicist in Stuttgart, Heider applied himself to painting, specializing in landscapes and flower still lifes, as well as war paintings which he created on the Russian Front in 1915.
Some faint ink spots; traces of a fold near upper left corner. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
