Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.

After studying in Frankfurt and Karlsruhe, Junker worked in Berlin from 1908, where he specialized in portraits and genre pieces, his paintings of horses achieving great popularity among racing enthusiasts.

Traces of postmarks and of 3 angular folds. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
