Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.

Milles specialized in creating fountains; his main works include the Poseidon statue in Gothenburg and the Gustaf Vasa statue at the Stockholm Nordic Museum. He taught at the Stockholm Academy from 1920 to 1931 before moving to the United States, where he was appointed professor at the Cranbrook Academy of Art.

Small creases near corners. Self-addressed by the collector. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
