After studying in Krakow and Munich, Pochwalski travelled Paris, Rome, Greece, Turkey and Egypt, was appointed professor at the Vienna Academy in 1893, and specialized in landscape and genre painting as well as portraiture.
Traces of postmarks. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
