In the 1880s he bought a house in Hroznová Lhota which quickly advanced to a popular meeting place for noted Czech artists.

Traces of a postmark; several small ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
