After studying at the Dresden and Antwerp Academies, Voigtländer worked in Karlsruhe, Brussels and Berlin, creating landscape paintings, interiors and nudes, visited Rügen island in 1894, and became a soldier in 1914. Voigtländer's autograph address on the reverse.
Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
