Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.

Appointed professor at the Munich Academy of Applied Arts in 1900, Waderé frequently exhibited at the Munich Glaspalast, making a name for himself with his medals and neoclassicist monuments. His oeuvre includes decorations for the Prinzregententheater as well as the Justizpalast in Munich.

Traces of postmarks. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
