Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "Gern [...] Giebt es in Rostock Austeradressen? ich hörte so etwas!!".

A member of the Berlin Secession, Wenck created various monuments and reliefs as well as figurines for the Rosenthal porcelain factory. His Muschelkalk sculpture "Geldzähler", produced for a fountain of the same name, won a contest of the Berlin sculptors' association in 1912.

Some small ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
