To the Austrian botanist Günther Beck von Mannagetta und Lerchenau, head of the Botanical Department of the K. K. Hofkabinett (now the Natural History Museum) in Vienna, asking him for his publications of scientific reviews in French journals and offering issues of a botanical journal in return: "Etant chargé des analyses dans plusieurs Recueils français (Société Botanique, Annales de micrographie) je serais très heureux, s'il vous était possible de m'envoyer à l'avenir les tirages à part de vos travaux.
En vue de reconnaître cette faveur, je pourrais vous donner les fascicules du 'Botaniste' qui pourraient vous intéresser, ou vous accorder 40% de remise sur l'abonnement complet. [...]". Apparently, Beck obliged Dangeard, as the latter thanks him in the second letter for a package and promises to send some brochures in return.
