The letter from February 1964 was written to the art critic Roger van Gindertael, thanking him profusely for an article: "Je ne saurai assez vous remercier et vous féliciter de votre aimable texte. Van Gindertael's monographic article on Jean Piaubert's work appeared in the London-based magazine "The Connoisseur" in 1964.

The charming postcard from 1954 was sent to Mr. and Mrs. Crespelle in Saint Tropez with greetings from the island of Crete: "Que cette charmante Crétoise vous apporte, avec la bénédiction du Minos, nos bien sincères amitiés". Piaubert's "charmante Crétoise" is a reference to the reproduction of the fresco of a "Minoan dancer" in the palace of Knossos on the picture side.

On stationery with embossed letterhead. Well preserved.
