Illustrated catalogue of an exhibition of contemporary sculpture at the Bezalel National Museum. The exhibition showcased 30 works by the Israeli sculptor Yechiel Shemi (1922-2003), whose art "attempts, within a thoroughly modern idiom, to appeal to all of the senses" by employing traces of hammer and solder marks, coarse surfaces, and the suggested raw smell of fused metals, as well as sharp projections, piercing pieces of metal, and unfinished, raw and interesting textures.

Prepared by the American art historian Karl Katz (1929-2017), the catalogue gives the titles and measurements of the displayed pieces, seven of which are pictured. It concludes with a portrait photograph of the sculptor in his mid-thirties.

In mint condition.
