Two of the letters, the lettercard, and the visiting card are addressed to a Madame Emond and her husband. The lettercard, accepting an invitation, is the earliest dated item in the collection (1 May 1897). In a letter to M. Emond, dated 21 July 1906, Baillet declines an invitation, as he is performing in Augier's "Les Effrontés". In an undated letter to Mme. The visiting card was written to thank M. Emond in an unspecified matter.

On 24 January 1899, Baillet writes a somewhat cryptic letter concerning a talisman, with a quotation from Hugo's Ruy Blas: "Voici le talisman !

Finally, on 26 November 1899, Bataille declines an invitation due to a soirée and sends greetings to a Mme. Weill.

Georges Baillet was named Sociétaire of the Comédie-Française in 1887. One of his favourite roles was that of César de Bazan in Ruy Blas.

Lettercard shows minor foxing. Letter dated 26 November 1899 somewhat stained.
