To a pensionnaire of the Opéra-Comique, concerning her role in the premiere of Alfred Bruneaux' opera "Les Quatre Journées". Although the unnamed role is "in itself insignificant", Gheusi had the recipient's name placed next to that of the soprano Marthe Chenal, who created a leading role, so that the public and professionals would immediately notice her: "Le rôle des 4 Journées est insignifiant en soi ; mais j'ai tenu à faire inscrire votre nom auprès de celui de Mlle Chenal, dans une grande création. Ainsi, vous serez tout de suite signalée aux musiciens et au public".

Pierre-Barthélemy Gheusi was director of the Opéra-Comique from 1914 to 1918 and again from 1932 to 1936.

On stationery with embossed letterhead of the Opéra-Comique. Traces of folds and minimal foxing.
