Paris, 1918-1929.

The earliest letter can be dated based on a reference to Benoit's first publication "Kœnigsmark". Benoit cancels an appointment with the unnamed recipient at the famous Café de Flore, asking him instead to come to the Ministry of Education, where Benoit worked as a librarian, to give him a copy of "Kœnigsmark" and an article.

A letter to the playwright Lucien Descaves, dated 18 April, concerns Descaves' comedy "L'As de cœur" from 1920. Benoit chastizes the critics of the play and consoles his friend.

In the final letter in the collection, dated 8 April 1929, Benoit thanks a journalist for an article and expresses his hope to see him soon.

The letter from 1929 on stationery of the Société des Gens de Lettres. Minor browning.
