About the late receipt of a letter, and asking for a drawing to be handed over to Watt's servant: "Owing to your obliging note having been addressed to me: Mornington Square instead of Torrington Square I have only just received it. I return you my thanks for your polite compliance with my wishes. If you will favor me with the drawing you mention by the bearer, it shall be returned uninjured as soon as possible. My servant has a portfolio with him for the purpose of conveying it [...]".

Traces of old mounting on the verso. Includes several newspaper clippings, one of which shows a portrait engraving with facsimile signature.
