Classified maps of Kuwait, prepared for military use by the U.S. National Imagery and Mapping Agency; marked "for official use only". An incredibly detailed city plan of Al Jahra, including U.S. military facilities featuring barracks, guard towers, helicopter pads, training facilities, vehicle maintenance and storage. Permanent military presence in Kuwait was established shortly after Operation Desert Storm (1990-91) as part of a U.S. mission to protect Kuwait with a battle-ready battalion and to train service members for possible future wars against Iraq.
The map further indicates power and water treatment plants, industrial and residential areas featuring a remarkable number of schools and kindergartens, recreational facilities such as Entertainment City Amusement Park, the then-undeveloped Jaber Al-Ahmed neighbourhood, along with several spots labelled "shantytown".
The second map is an equally detailed chart of Al Funaytis neighbourhood in Kuwait City, indicating landmarks such as Masilah Palace and Al Masilah Hotel.
In excellent condition.
