First edition. Bentz served as the town doctor of Uffenheim; "he is said to have collected medical rather than chemical secrets" (Ferguson). Still, Bentz notably drew the ire of the influential Freemason who published under the name of Hermann Fictuld. The author signs his name on the title-page as "A[dolph] C[hristoph] B[entz] M[edicinae] D[octor]", giving his full name at the end of the dedication as well as that of the preface.

Somewhat browned throughout due to paper stock; a small repaired edge tear to the dedication. From the library of the Royal Hungarian Geological and Geographical Society with their old Hungarian library stamp ("Kir. Magyar Természet-Tudományi Társulat") to title-page.
