Johann Josef Schindler was a very important Austrian painter, etcher and lithographer at the turn of the 19th century. A student at the Vienna Academy, he became a member in 1818. From 1810 he worked as art teacher. His works can be found in the Austrian Gallery Belvedere and other museums.

In good overall condition; restorations to defective top left corner and of two minor tears at upper edge.
