To Mrs. Roland G. Hopkins from the Women's City Club of Boston: "I am asking Doubleday Doran to send you a copy of Paul Engle's 'AMERICAN SONG', which they're just publishing, because I thin both you and Mrs. Russell would be interested in seeing it. He's the young Iowa poet I spoke to you about and I think he has real abilities. And so often a book of poems gets sloughed under by the flood of novels etc. and never happens to reach the people who would like it. And, as Engle is a friend of mine, I resolved that at least his book would get into the hands of a few people who might value it [...]".

Partly on stationery with printed letterhead.
