To the Italien writer Rolando Pieraccini in Helsinki, regarding the signing of a special edition: "Thank you for your kind letter. The best possibility would be, if you could bring me the books (pages) if you could personally come to Vienna and assist me, when I sign them [...]" (10 April 1990).

"[...] I would have liked so much to visit Finnland next year but it seems that my state of health makes it impossible [...]" (12 July 1990).

"I am very sorry that it took so long a time to sign all copies - I had been ill for some months. But now I have finished all signing [...]" (25 Aug. 1991).

The poem "Gebirgsrand" ("Edge of the Mountain") is writein in blue felt pen: "Denn was täte ich, | wenn die Jäger nicht wären, meine Träume, | die am Morgen | auf der Rückseite der Gebirge | niedersteigen, im Schatten".

The art collector and publisher Pieraccini, long resident in Finland, published numerous limited editions of 20th century art and literature. His large collection, considered the most important private collection of Italian 20th c. art, he left to the Helsinki Ateneum in 2008.
