Outstanding collection of watercolours and washed pen-and-ink drawings, many in half-page size. The first, larger, of the two volumes is entitled: "Deutsche Dichterworte über Mutterliebe und Häuslichkeit / illustrirt mit Photografien u. Randzeichnungen von Gabriele St.-Genois-Stolberg / 1869".

The second volume contains equally painstakingly executed drawings illustrating Heinrich Heine's "Buch der Lieder"; the loose sheets contain various poems, set to music on additional leaves; composers include Carl Eckert, Friedrich Kücken and Robert Schumann. The illustrations and calligraphical copies are by Gabriele St. Genois, granddaughter of Friedrich Leopold Stolberg, and by Elisabeth Salm-Reifferscheidt, née Princess Liechtenstein (1832-94).

Some fingerstaining, but very attractively preserved.
