Beautiful letter, written only months before Causse's premature death, very likely to Charles Vincens, to thank him for helping the "poor girl" Rose Héré and for comments on a novel entitled "Fleurs des Roses" that doesn't seem to have been published. Rose Héré was the daughter of a fisherman from Ushant who had risked her life to save 14 shipwrecked seamen in the night of the 1 November 1903. The deed that Causse is referring to, was a financially substantial price awarded to Héré by the Académie de Marseille, that Vincent was an influential member of, for saving the seamen of Marseillais origin.

Causse and Vincens shared the penname Pierre Maël, under which they wrote highly popular adventure stories for an adolescent audience.

Somewhat creased.
