To an unknown recipient. Liszt is sick in Madonna del Rosario, he felt "very unwell walking up Monte Mario after having had dinner at the Vatican". He writes to confirm his presence at an important concert by Lippi despite his state of health. "After that [he will] endorse himself to eight days of imprisonment". His sicckness does not keep him from maintaining his social commitments with his correspondent, "Haxthausen and Mme Colban".

Enclosed a framed reproduction of the famous photography by Hanfstaengl that shows the pianist playing.
