 1,500.00

First edition of Ehrenstein's second work. Inscribed to the Viennese printer Georg Jahoda (1863-1926), who had published Ehrenstein's famous début "Tubutsch" (with Kokoschka's illustrations) the previous year: "Herrn Georg Jahoda / in Dankbarkeit / Albert Ehrenstein. / Berlin, SW48. / 20. Mai 1912".

Binding slightly rubbed; extremeties bumped, hinges cracked. Occasional edge damage, but well preserved altogether. The printing shop Jahoda & Siegel also printed Karl Kraus's journal "Die Fackel" and most of his other writings. In 1910, Kraus had facilitated Ehrenstein's first publication ever: the poem "Wanderers Lied", which appeared in the "Fackel" and made the Expressionist famous overnight.

Provenance: acquired directly from the niece of Johanna Jahoda, daughter and sometime collaborator of Georg Jahoda.
