First edition of the text of a speech held by the father of Russian Marxism, Georgi Plekhanov, in Geneva, on the 25th anniversary of the poet Nikolai Nekrasov's death. Plekhanov here repeats a point made during Nekrasov's funeral in 1878, namely that Nekrasov's literary role dwarfs the achievements of Alexander Pushkin, because it instilled in Russian readers a sense of socio-political responsibility. Initially intended to be published in the journal "Iskra", Plekhanov's text was printed in a separate edition.
Lacking rear wrapper; lower right corner scuffed; else internally very good.
