Parts one and three only of the German Capuchin theologian's important work in three parts, first published in 1689 in this version and reissued numerous times. It is considered "one of the best Catholic books of edification [...] far from the simplicity of the gospels" (cf. Scherer), giving lively descriptions of episodes from the New Testament. In addition to part one of the Life of Christ (with part two missing), it includes the "Nützlicher Zusatz zu dem Leben Christi" in four parts. The appealing illustrations, namely a map of the Holy Land, a view of Jerusalem, and numerous scenes from the New Testament, render this work all the more interesting.

Binding partly defective, especially at the spine and the lower wooden boards. Both clasps missing. Paper browned throughout, fingerstained, slightly waterstained, slight worming. Larger paper flaws in the map and the view with substantial loss, rebacked with thicker paper, some worming in the gutter.
