[Ephemerides] - Martin de Ath, Jean. Ephemerides meteorologicae anni bisextilis, 1572 horizonti Brabantico: seu latitud. 51 grad. collatae.

Antwerp, Aegidius Radaeus (van den Rade) for Guillaem van Parijs, [1571].

Oblong 12mo (ca. 103 x 74 mm). (80) pp. With one full-page woodcut diagram on the last page verso and a half-page woodcut in text. Printed in red and black throughout. Contemporary limp vellum.

Extremely rare Dutch astronomical prognostication manual from the time of Cornelius Gemma. About the author Jean Martin from Ath, a physician in Goes in Zeeland and a "student of mathematics" (as he calls himself on the title-page), nothing appears to be known. The earliest works that the British Museum Short Title Catalogue lists for the publisher Guillaem van Parijs appeared in 1575. No further copy of this work could be traced.

Insignificant waterstaining to a few pages, but on the whole a charming, unique survival.
