Very rare account of the various earthquakes that occurred in the world, and in particular in Lisbon in the years 1356 and 1531, followed by the translation of a letter sent from Peru by a Spaniard to his friend in Sevilla describing seismic phenomena and earthquakes that had taken place in Africa in 1751. The letter is here given in Portuguese translation. This curious publication on earthquakes was published less than four years before the Great Lisbon earthquake of 1755, which, together with the ensuing tsunami, destroyed the city and claimed some 50,000 lives.

Slightly browned and soiled in the margins, especially on the title-page. Some stains to the final three leaves and last leaf repaired, not affecting the text. In good condition.
